Natural Way to a Beautiful Smile: Weleda Salt Toothpaste

It is obvious how important healthy teeth and gums are when it comes to beauty and wellness. And while you can achieve this look through traditional methods found at the grocery store, these products are often filled with harmful chemicals such as: sodium fluoride (a carcinogen that is also found in rat poison), triclosan, FD&C Blue Dye #1 and 2 (carcinogenic properties), sodium lauryl sulfate (we met this ingredient when we spoke about Korres Cleanser in an earlier post), and hydrated silica (an antibacterial pesticide).

So, what if you want to still have a beautiful smile while not using chemically ridden products in your mouth? Easy solution:

I’ve been using Weleda’s Salt Toothpaste for the past 8 months and I am not going back (so long as I can find it in Norway). The main ingredient is Sodium bicarbonate (aka baking soda) and the essential oil of peppermint creates a fresh mouth. It takes some getting used to – both in taste and texture. It is grainy, it doesn’t foam and it is salty, but it also works like a charm. My mouth feels truly clean and not masked and stripped by strong chemicals.

The only hitch here is I bought two tubes off of Amazon, and have had a hard time finding it in stores. If you see it somewhere, let me know!
