Some of the most weird and random recipes come out of my kitchen — especially when grocery shopping has been neglected, or in this case, during the holidays when stores are closed.
I threw together 3 raw ingredients and created the perfect probiotic rich, raw, vegan lunch. I had to share, and share with you. Enjoy <3
Miso – A Beauty Food
Miso is a fermented food that originates from Asia — but it’s a common staple in many of the health conscious’ cupboards. Miso, like other fermented foods, are beneficial for supporting the gut flora, and the overall health of the digestive system. The beneficial bacteria are helpful in supporting the immune system, but also for clear skin.
- 1 Ripe Mango
- 1 Zuchinni
- 2 tsp of Shaman Shack Sea Clear Miso Base with Fermented Kelp & Chlorella
- Spiralize your Zuchinni noodles
- In a blender combine the chopped mango & Sea Clear
- Pour blended ingredients over the noodles
I don’t even know if i can legitimately call this a recipe, as it took me about 3 minutes to make and even less time to clean up. Needless to say I was done my lunch in about 20 minutes and feeling very satiated.
The sweetness of the mango cuts through the miso, but the salty dynamic of the Sea Clear (which has a wonderfully distinct taste for a miso base) is a perfect compliment.
A note on Sea Clear
I have been eating raw miso for a long time, but I found out about this insanely awesome product – Sea Clear, by Shaman Shack – after watching one of my favourite naturally living beauties (and fellow Vancouverite) Sarah from Holistic Habits talk on this one. She had me convinced after she said it had a hint of pesto flavour – and it does. But beyond that, all the added sea foods (kelp and chlorella namely) this superfood is packing a punch for the support of your digestive tract and therefore your skin.
