Self Love: Here’s How I Work with Flower Remedies to Heal

I love spring. It’s a time for planting new intentions and watching what comes to life in the season ahead. One of the things I’ve been planting not only for myself, but for women everywhere, is more self-love. It’s been a journey, this practice of acceptance and self-confidence, and I must say it DOES get easier in time. Over the past years, I have been focusing on accepting myself and my body as it is – in all its natural beauty. That acceptance has led to a great deal of healing both emotionally and physically; however, I still catch myself in moments of self-judgement, especially as the summer arises. Why might you ask? Body image.

It is a topic I don’t need to raise, we are all well aware of the standards that are portrayed by (social)media falsely telling the story of what is “healthy” and what is “beautiful.” The fact is, there are so many varieties of beauty and I believe we, as a society, are starting to embrace that. And yet still, I think about how many times I’ve started a “bikini body diet” in the spring, only to feel like a failure when summer arrives.

About three years ago, this came to a stop, and I finally embraced eating in ways that just made me feel good and moving in ways my body intuitively needed. But all the while, these self-deprecating thoughts still arose. To help work with them in a more loving way, I began looking into flower remedies as a way to work with these emotions. The blend I’ve created today is about focusing on loving the self and forgiving the self in order to move forward to a place of confidence and acceptance. I hope you enjoy.

Self-Love Blend using BACH™ Original Flower Remedies

My blend was a simple one: five flower remedies that all focused on areas I felt connected to my own healing in this area. I hope you might find some inspiration for your own healing here as well.

What you’ll need is pretty simple

  1. 30 mL mixing bottle
  2. Bottled or filtered spring water
  3. BACH® flower remedies of your choice

Here is what I blended:

2 drops each of BACH™ Original Flower Remedies:

  1. Crab Apple for acceptance of imperfections
  2. Larch for confidence
  3. Hornbeam for procrastinating less when it comes to moving my body in the way it needs and meditating daily
  4. Willow for forgiving myself for the ways I’ve treated and spoken to my body in the past
  5. Oak to restore my endurance to find the energy to do activities that make me feel good about myself

I blended these into the clear bottle (below) and wrote my personal blend on the bottle with a date of when I blended it. This bottle should last me about 3 weeks when I take 4 drops 4 times per day.

Directions

  1.  In a 30 mL mixing bottle add two drops of each of the BACH™ Original Flower Remedies
  2. Fill the remainder of the bottle with spring water
  3. Take four drops at least four times per day

Your personal blend can last around three weeks if kept in a cool dry place or in the fridge.

Alternatively, you can add a preservative: before putting the water into your mixing bottle, add one teaspoon of brandy, cider vinegar, or glycerin. I chose to use apple cider vinegar, as I always have that on hand in my cupboards.
