LPN’s 2015 Holiday Gift Guide Part III: For the Yogi

kelsiAnd so it continues, LPN’s holiday gift guide! Today’s guide, for the yogi, is curated by one of the owners (and one of my favourite yoga teachers and best friends) Kelsi, from Leela Yoga in Oslo.

You may have seen gorgeous Kelsi and her lovely studio on LPN’s Instagram, a few times. Kelsi has lovingly selected her yoga gift picks for you to browse. Happy shopping yogis!

Oh, and if you’re in the Oslo area, make sure to drop by Leela Yoga for a class from Kelsi. She is a goddess – and I promise you will come out of her class feeling like one as well.

So, let’s get to it – 2015’s Yogi Gift Guide!

LPN Gift Guide 2015 - Leela Yoga

Spiritual Gangster Tank

spiritual gangSpiritual Gangster has made an impact on the yoga gear industry, without a doubt. With their awesome sayings, and cool prints, they create some of the most fun pieces for pre or post shavasana. Their newest collection? Gorgeous. Why not pick up a tank that’s burgundy and gold, or the Goddess Lakshmi on it (pictured)? I love the prints, colors and quality. Its always a treat to wear one!

Beyond Yoga Leggings

byond yoga

Every yogi needs a good pair of leggings. My favourite are by far Beyond Yoga’s leggings. The quality and fabric are amazing. Make sure you pick up a pair of space dye leggings. Space dye is a uniquely textured performance fabric with an exceptionally soft hand – touching it is lovely. The fabric includes a 4-way stretch (yes, you actually will notice a different) and quick-dry properties. The recipient of the gift will love you forever! These leggings feel plush and comfortable, while still looking modern and fabulous. These side black mesh panels make for some extra breathing room, while also being super cool! The high waist keeps everything in check and the length is great for coming to and from yoga during the winter.

Yoga Books

yogahomebook

If anyone knows me, they know I love books [Kate interjecting here: yes, Kelsi is indeed a the Queen of a good read – I’ve borrowed a few from her library – in fact I’m traveling home for Christmas holidays right now with one of her books in my bag].

Giving a book to someone is a lovely way to show them you care! I have many on my list this Christmas, but one that looks intriguing and beautiful is this new book on creating a home practice. With wise advice from world renown yogis including everything from creating your yogi space, to how to commit to your new practice. This one I’ll be gifting to someone dear this Christmas, so should you!

Some other books you might consider for the more experienced yogi friends are:

Jade Yoga Mat

You’ve heard LPN talk a lot about Manduka, but up on the ranks of “best yoga mat ever”? Look no further than the Jade mat. I have been a fan of the Jade mat since I touched one. I loved them so much, I bought them for the studio and we have all our members using them! Not only do you not slip on them, but they are also eco friendly. Win win for your loved one.

Stocking Stuffer! Arnica Gel

81DZAHLbAjL._SX522_

Perfect for the stocking of your favourite sore muscled yogi friend is arnica gel! I always have this on hand. Arnica oil is found to have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, and may be helpful for treating or relieving a whole lot more. Often it is used for muscle aches, spasms, pulled muscles, or rheumatic pain, sprains, bruises, and swelling due to fractures, insect bites and even acne! A saviour for every yoga bag!

International: Amazon for $7.50 USD

Bkr Watter Bottle

bkr

Another LPN fave is the bkr bottle. Hydrating is key during and after a yoga class – and you might as well do it in style. Im guilty of owning a few of these (how can you not? the colours!). They are the perfect accessory in the studio and out! Treat a loved one to the .5 L bottle or even the 1. L bottle for extra H2O love!

Satya Jewelry

satya

This jewelry is just stunning. I love the details and the message behind each piece. The piece pictured is a gorgeous Lotus flower on 18kt gold, which is focusing on new beginnings and infinite potential. The hamsa represents protection and blessings, while the turquoise brings health, intuition and self expression. How beautiful! You also see the Why not treat someone you love to these gems!

Donation to a Yoga Non-Profit

nonprofit

Sometimes buying a gift can be an extra “good gift” to those giving and receiving. For the yogi that has everything, or maybe doesn’t exchange gifts, why not donate some money to a yoga non-profit? I love this non-profit, Off the Mat (OTM), for many reasons. The fact that Seane Corn is the powerhouse behind it makes it extra special.

OTM uses the tools of yoga to inspire conscious activism and ignite grassroots and global change. They do this by facilitating personal empowerment and social awareness in their leadership trainings, fostering community collaboration, and supporting local and global community engagement projects. Founded in 2007, OTM’s mission is to use the tools of yoga, meditation, and self-inquiry to inspire leaders to create conscious, sustainable change.
