Emani Mineral Makeup Review from the Purely Posh Online Natural Shop

I love meeting new people and brands in the natural community – my recent interaction with Jen from Purely Posh was no different.  She introduced me to some new brands that she’s carrying in her lovely online shop Purely Posh. She carries such brands including Acure, Zoe Organics & Honey Bee Gardens (who makes one of my favourite natural lipsticks). This time I was able to give Emani Mineral Cosmetics a whirl. I (and my mom) liked what I/we saw.

Emani Foundation Primer & Hydrating Serum

The first thing on the docket was the Emani Foundation Primer. This light hydrating serum is a great addition for under your makeup to ensure that nothing is getting caught in those fine wrinkles and expression lines. The serum left skin soft and was absorbed quickly, meaning you can put your makeup on right away. The primer is on the non-toxic side with scoring a low 3 on the Cosmetics Database by the Environmental Working Group. It is here where I create my reports to check products and their ingredient lists.

Some of their key ingredients include:

  • Ginkgo Biloba Extract – promotes microcirculation
  • Chamomile & Witch Hazel extracts – calms the skin
  • Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice – hydration

While this won’t replace your moisturizer, it is a great natural addition for those lovlies who like a primer before their foundation (an especially important tool in your beauty kit if you wear powder foundation).

Shop it for $30 USD on Purely Posh.

Emani Pressed Mineral Foundation (in Natural Sand)

Since I have quite dry skin, I have always shied away from pressed powder foundation. Since I was a bit of a pressed foundation rookie, I decided to take a whirl with this product with my mom, as she is one of the most opinionated people when it comes to her cosmetics. I won’t argue with her as I can only hope to look that good when I am in my 50’s. My mom was impressed. Being menopausal, for mom, hot flashes are the new norm (ha!), so having a foundation that doesn’t “drip” off is important.

In terms of purity, the ingredients were a low 2 on the EWG scale, they are talc free and vegan too!

It has a light-medium coverage (and is buildable) and is perfect for any beauties who have normal – oily skin. The finish was lovely and matte, and mom agreed that the finish was perfect for her more mature skin.

Star ingredients include:

• Honeysuckle – skin purification

• Rosemary Leaf Extract – promotes microcirculation

You can shop Emani’s Pressed Matte Foundation from Purely Posh for $34 USD.

Emani Pressed Blush (in Miami Tan)

I really loved the Emani blush in Miami Tan. It was a perfect pink hue for summer and I am actually wearing it as I write this blog post. Since it’s mineral based, a little goes a long way. The tone is great for all skin tones and has staying power (it’s 30+ degrees outside and I’m melting, but my makeup is still where it should be). Emani blushes scored a low 2 on the EWG scale, so they are safe and pretty.

Shop Emani blushers in their other colours as well on Purely Posh for $16 USD.

Well, lovelies, hope you get a chance to enjoy Emani as much as I have.
